The Environmental Compliance Manager is the main representative for the plant at state wide regulatory work groups. Prior to the Water Quality Control Division finalizing any regulations, a process takes place with stakeholder participation. All stakeholders who are interested in or believe a regulation (water quality standard) may impact their agency will attend a series of meetings through the Colorado Water Quality Control Forum.The stakeholder meetings are held with the intention of all interested parties being provided the opportunity to discuss concerns, provide data/site specific information or legal council prior to the final proposal being heard in front of the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission.
The Colorado Water Quality Control Forum was created in 1992 to provide an opportunity for an ongoing informal dialogue among diverse parties representing a broad spectrum of stakeholder interests in water quality management. Participants include water suppliers, industrial and municipal dischargers, environmental groups, and federal, state, and local governmental agencies.
